How to make a page on Petizens

There are unlimited possibilities to make an amazing page on Petizens, we got tons of free design elements and you can add as many as you want with the HTML panels

Take a look on the video below how simple it is to make a page by just dragging and dropping things to the page:

Click on your pet's name or photo to go to it's webpage. On the right side you see a Control panel, click to Edit your page.

You will see FOUR tabs: Colors, Panels, Pictures and Stickers:

Colors: Change tab colors and background colors on your page

Panels: Add Blog, Guestbook, Friends or Gift Panel (Premium members can also add SpeechBubbles and HTML panels)

Pictures: All the pictures and Videos you have uploaded for your pet are seen here

Stickers: Spice up the page with the stickers

To modify any panel, click on Modify on the top left corner of the panel.

Modify - Modify the Style or fonts

- Remove this panel (or drag out of page)

- Level 3 and above pets can rotate to any angle

- Click and drag to resize

Note: Members get all these features without reaching those required levels. Buy a membership

What are the Levels, Points and Petopian$?

Basically these are:

Levels - A measurement system to show how active a pet is on Petizens, higher levels will unlock new things
Points - You earn points by doing things and when other pets/users do things to your pet
Petopian$ - You can earn Petopian$ by contributing to the site, reaching higher levels, etc. You can spend them by giving gifts to other pets.

Points

There are many fun ways to earn points and give points to others:

Voting

You get points for every vote you make (unless your vote is too low and would be considered an 'inappropriate vote'). You vote by sliding the vote bar and clicking on a star

Vote on pet profiles	1pt per vote
Vote on pet photos	0.25pt per vote
Vote on knowledge articles	2pt per vote

Make friends

You earn 5pt for each friend your pet has. To make friends with a pet go to their profile and click the "Make friends" button.

Give gifts

You earn points for both giving and receiving gifts, you get 2% of the cost of the gift in points for receiving a gift and 1% for giving a gift. Give a pet a gift that costs 1000P$ and get 10points, your friend will get 20points!

Write things

Share your knowledge and write articles, forums and blogs.

Write a blog	25pt
Start a forum	1pt per post in your forum
Reply a forum	2pt per post
Write an article	10% of the vote in points

Work together to get points

In order to reach higher levels it's not enough to have a lot of points, you need to work with other pets to make the right points, for instance:

Points given by others

Whenever someone vote on your page, photos or articles, give you a gift, visit your page, reply your forum topics or accept your friend request you earn points. So it's important to keep a lot of friends and encourage them to vote and communicate with you.

Petopian$

Petopian$ is the currency used in Petizens, you can use your Petopian$ to give gifts to other pets and buy panels not yet unlocked on your pet page:

What are the crowns for?

The crowns indicate the pet being a premium member on Petizens:

GreenCard member, which they earned by doing things or winning contests. this can also be bought by Petopian$

GoldCard member, which lasts for 1/3/6 or 12 months

Platina member, lifetime membership, costs US$100.

Premium members can do a lot more things on the page than the regular members; for instance they can remove the Ad-Block, rotate photos, add HTML panels and speechbubbles. Gold and Platina users also get a lot more Petopian$ every month for the monthly allowance. It's very easy to buy a membership

How to make friends on Petizens?

Make friends icon is highlighted in the middle

Click on the pet you want to make friends with (either on picture or name)
On the top left on that pet's page you see it's MainCard with the default photo. Under the photo you see five (5) icons:
Click on the Make friends icon
Select which pet of yours (if you have several) that want to make friends
You can write a message if you want
Click Send
That pet will receive a Friend Request, once they accept you are friends and both of you get 5points

How to accept friends on Petizens?

When someone wants to be friends with your pet(s) you receive an e-mail (you can disable this mail if you get too many)
Either follow the link in the mail or click on the on the top right corner to go to your Mailbox
Click on the Invitations tab on the mailbox
Click the Checkbox to accept the friendship, or click Accept all on the top to accept all
Don't forget to visit your new friends by clicking on their name

How to invite friends on Petizens?

Go to Invite my friends page to invite your friends from FaceBook, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc
If you have not filled out your real name before, do so now
Write your e-mail address and password
Select which friends to mail the invite to
Submit to mail all of those you selected

Once your friends join and add a pet, you get 1000Petopian$ per friend and 2points per pet every day they sign in.

What are the Scratchposts?

Scratchposts in Petizens are quite similar to the Walls in Facebook

Scratchposts in Petizens

On your own ScratchPost you can see what other users and pets have done related to you and your pets

On your friends ScratchPost you can see what your friends have been doing recently

If you want to see what another user has been doing click on the user's name, then the Link on their page to see their Scratchpost

If you see too many similar things, or want to only see gifts for instance, you can change the preferences by clicking the button on top of the ScratchPost.
